Idli Podi

1 glass Channa dal
1 glass Urad dal
1 tbsp Coriander seeds
1/4 tsp Jeera
1/4 tsp Methi
10-12 Red chillies
1/2 cup Dry coconut powder
Lemon size of Tamarind
Small pinch of Turmeric
Small pinch of Hing
Salt- According to taste
Optional- Jaggery

Method:
1) Roast all the above ingredients with very little oil.
2) Grind them in a mixer after allowing them to cool and store in an airtight container.
3) It is necessary to roast channa dal first and add urad dal a little later; slowly add all
the ingredients one by one to be able roast uniformly.
4) This powder can also be prepared without jaggery and turmeric for variation in the taste.
