Bottle gourd kootu with toovar dal
1 bowl. Bottle gourd medium size pieces
1/2 bowl. Toovar dal
Lemon size. Tamarind
3-4. Green chillies
Roast and make a paste
1 tbsp. Channa dal
1 tbsp. urad dal
3-4 Red chillies
8-10. Pepper corns
Hing
Roast with little oil, grind and make it into a paste by adding little water.
Cook the dal for 2 whistles.
Remove the lid and add the bottle gourd pieces, salt, turmeric and green chillies and cook for one whistle .
Remove the lid,add the tamarind pulp,and masala paste and cook for 5 minutes.
Season with mustard seeds and hing
Top with coriander and curry leaves.
